Art for Our Sea makes things to help protect what lies beneath the tide.

Art for Our Sea is the public ocean work created by Matt Hardisty. 10% of every studio fee, alongside artwork sales and donations, helps fund seagrass mapping, monitoring, protection and restoration across the Thames Estuary.

More than £40,000 raised since 2023.

What began as an attempt to fund restoration revealed something more fundamental: every restored meadow begins with another that survived.

We thought we were funding restoration. We discovered we were protecting its source.

The first series, Sea Bathing (2023), raised five-figure funding to map seagrass in Margate and the Thames Estuary, building the evidence for large-scale recovery.
